Application Processing

The Document, Income & Profile (DIP) module in Credit Origination helps to ensure that a preliminary screening of the application is done to keep the sales focus on the right target segment and unnecessary application log-ins get controlled.

Business Process Enablers

Credit Origination is entirely built around the Polaris' Worlflow services backbone and lets the user configure business processes with activities (stages) and queues. Various products can be associated with these processes.

Business Rules Engine

The Business Rules Engine acts as an expert system that stores these business rules and evaluates them automatically, thereby simplifying the process of rule implementation. The great advantage of a Business Rule Engine driven approach is that it allows the users to maintain and change the rules whenever desired, thereby reducing the response time to changes. Credit Decision or Underwriting within Origination is accomplished using the Business Rules Engine component.

The underwriting module supports the business user toward approving or rejecting the application at its various stages. The processes leading to approval or rejection are as follows:

  • Objective policy to determine system recommended approvals / deviation levels / limits / rejections, evaluation and calculation of scores, credit limit and possible user override.
  • The system supports the above process using the following:
    • Queue management application approval, referral, decline, diarize application, redo application
    • User Management Application Assignment, Referrals, Escalations
